The creator half of my business: websites, shops and memberships for content creators. I designed and built it from scratch, including a price builder and a secure checkout.
The idea
A price, before a conversation
Creators often want to see a price before they talk to anyone.
So as well as a contact form, the website has a builder: choose a website, its size and any extras, and the total updates as you go. When you’re ready, you pay securely and the project starts, with no back-and-forth over quotes.
The build
What I built
Designed and built from scratch, front to back.
- A price builderEvery price lives in one list, which the page and the checkout both read, so a price only ever changes in one place.
- A secure checkoutStripe Checkout takes payment, and the server works the price out again from the same list, so the price shown is the price charged.
- Care that starts on launch dayThe card is saved at checkout, and the monthly care plan starts with one button on launch day.
- Automatic emailsA welcome email in the website’s own style, with the agreed terms attached as a PDF, and an order summary for me.
- Referral codes that work straight awayAnyone can sign up for a code, and it works at checkout the moment it’s made.
- Light and fastHand-written HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no frameworks, and fonts served from the website itself.
- Privacy-friendly analyticsVisits are counted without advertising features, with a simple switch to turn analytics off.
- Built to be foundStructured data, clean addresses, a sitemap and page titles written for search.
